Pro bono
Attorney Jan Trapszyc pro publico bono (without charging an attorney’s fee) on behalf of interested parties conducts cases falling within the jurisdiction of Polish courts concerning civil liability of states for damages and harm inflicted by their officials during armed conflicts as a result of war crimes and/or crimes against humanity.
This concerns damage inflicted by soldiers or policemen of Nazi Germany to civilians or soldiers of Polish origin on the territory of Poland during II World War (extermination, tortures, mutilation, forced labour, unlawful imprisonment).
A case of this category recognised by Polish courts in recent years was that of Mr Winicjusz Natoniewski, who, acting through an attorney, sued for damages Federal Republic of Germany.
